Montse Miàs
Composer, Pianist, Educator
Composer, Pianist, Educator
Free-spirited Catalan pianist and composer, Montse Miàs moves naturally between the delicacy of classical piano and the sonic exploration of minimalism, world music, and contemporary creation.
Trained in the United States with teachers such as Yakov Gubanov, Tibor Pusztai, and John Heiss, she has premiered works for string quartet, chamber music ensembles, and choir. Today, once again rooted in Catalonia, she combines teaching with composition.
In her recitals, Montse invites the listener on a contemplative sonic journey, where each piece becomes a mirror of lived moments and idyllic worlds.
